Celebrating Community: Ice Cream Sundae Sunday

On Sunday, August 11th, The Rise Foundation of Chicago had the privilege of partnering with Gorham United Methodist Church and other amazing community partners for an unforgettable Ice Cream Sundae and Sidewalk Sunday School event. The event was a heartwarming success, bringing smiles, laughter, and valuable resources to the children in our community.

We began the day with a Sunday School lesson that engaged more than 25 children, teaching them important lessons about faith and community in a fun and interactive way. The children, ranging from grades K-8, were enthusiastic participants in this uplifting spiritual experience. Following the lesson, the excitement continued with delicious ice cream sundaes, games, and a bounce house for the children to enjoy.

As the highlight of the day, more than 75 children received book bags filled with school supplies, helping to set them up for success in the coming school year. The event also provided a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, and the joy was palpable as children left with their new school supplies, smiling faces, and full hearts.

This event would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of our volunteers, the members of Gorham United Methodist Church, and our partners in the community, including Chicago Public Schools. We are incredibly grateful for the collective support that made the day special for so many families.

At The Rise Foundation, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. Sunday's event was a true testament to the difference we can make when we work together. We look forward to continuing our mission to support and uplift the youth.

Stay tuned for more exciting community events and opportunities to get involved with The Rise Foundation.
